DESCRIPTION:This is one of our longer guided hikes. Meet at the corral for checkin from 8:30-8:45 so we can depart promptly at 9am. We will carpool/caravan further up Latrobe Road (higher clearance vehicles recommended) to an area of the property not open to self-guided hikers. The hike will be 5.5 miles over easy to moderate terrain\, trails mostly\, but not exclusively. Multiple stops and breaks along the way. Our goal is to return to the corral and depart around 1:30 to 2:00\, but if the group requires a slower pace it may get pushed back to 2-2:30. \nVISITORS MUST:\nPre-register and pay before 6pm on Friday and\nComplete a liability waiver before arriving\nDonations are vital to maintaining the Preserve and offering public outings. Consider donating online or leaving cash or a check in the donation jar at the registration table. \nWe have put procedures and policies in place for the safety of the public\, volunteers\, and staff. We are only able to offer public hikes/rides and activities if all the following protocols are observed. Thank you for your cooperation.

DESCRIPTION:The Auburn Recreation District\, ARD\, is hosting its annual Floating Egg Hunt at Recreation Park in the Sierra Pool on Saturday\, April 4 from 10am-12pm. \nThe pool is heated to 84 degrees and a thousand festive Easter eggs will be scattered throughout the pool. Eight participants are invited to go into the pool at a time\, each with their own lane. Children who are unable to swim on their own will be able to swim in the shallower part of the pool with an adult. \nEach child will have the chance to collect 10 eggs from the pool\, which they can then turn in for candy and prizes. BYO horse and gear\, including a muck bucket and water for your horse after the ride. \nGroups travel at a walk and are usually from 8-10 in size. Horses and riders should be accustomed to riding in groups and in open fields. \nSVC’s goal is a safe and enjoyable outing for all. Helmets are REQUIRED for ALL beginner-level riders and riders 17 years old and younger—NO EXCEPTIONS. Helmets are optional\, though recommended\, for adult riders classified in the Novice\, Intermediate\, and Advanced levels. \nArrive at 10:00am – ride out at 11:00am. Saddle time approximately 2 1/2 hours. Space is limited. Tickets are non-refundable but may be transferred under special circumstances or if rain postpones the ride.
