New students will be introduced to the four fundamental skills, Bamboo, Plum Blossom, Orchid and Chrysanthemum.
These skills will lead to further advanced studies that can include birds, fish, animals, landscapes and more.

Chinese Brush Painting Material List for beginners:
- Ink Stone, an ink stone is a stone mortar for the grinding and containment of ink.
- Ink Stick
- Brush, 1 medium Orchid Bamboo brush or 1 medium Weasel hair brush.
- Paper, Xuan paper or Rice paper (Half Raw and Half Ripe). Note: Practice Xuan paper will be provided by art instructor.
- Felt Mat, can be purchased from fabric store. About 25’ x 30’ color of your choice.
