What to expect on class day?
Upon arrival, your expert glassblower will welcome you to the shop and introduce you to color theory and selection. After choosing your shape and colors, you’ll step into the hot shop, where your instructor will begin with a live demonstration. Once the demo is complete, your hands-on lesson begins! You’ll learn essential skills such as gathering glass, applying color, maintaining workable temperatures, marvering, blowing, using molds, and so much more.
At the end of your lesson, your piece will be placed in the annealer, where it will cool gradually over 16 hours. Before you leave, you’ll have the chance to ask Tate and/or Aaron any final (burning — wink wink!) questions, explore the hot shop and browse our 1700 sq. ft boutique!
